Vida Brinker is an artist in Corvallis, Oregon working in dried floral design and expressive watercolor. Growing and drying her own flowers, Vida approaches wreath-making like building a 3D mosaic, excited and delighted by the placement of each small bit of color and texture offered from the flowers and plants harvested from her garden. Her watercolor pieces are rooted in the patterns and textures of nature and fueled by the beauty around her home near the Willamette River. Through her painting, she seeks to communicate the ways in which the external landscape informs her internal emotional landscape. She likes to swim in wild rivers and hunt for agates on the Oregon Coast. She enjoys the gray days of Oregon winters and the hot dry sunny days of Oregon summers. On garden or studio days she is accompanied by a black cat and a giant golden retriever puppy.
