I am a fused glass artist belonging to the Fire and Light Glass Guild and the Pacific Northwest Glass Guild. Fused glass uses heat in a kiln to join glass rather than glue, grout, or soldered metal. I became interested in the medium when I saw dichroic glass jewelry at art fairs and began taking classes at the Craft Center at Oregon State University where I became hooked! I now have two kilns and a glass studio
in my home in North Albany, Oregon. My fused glass hobby brings me such happiness that I like to add the element of joy and whimsy to my glass pieces. Cocktail and beer pint ornaments (#BoozerFuser), Honeycomb bee plates, a ladybug or bee added to a flower scene, smiling Llamas and slugs, to name a few. I also like to share my glass studio with my family. My mother makes all my plant-stake flowers (#GramsFunkyFlowers) and my Aunt Judy decorates many of the llamas and slugs. Friends, nieces, nephews, and coworkers have come to learn and create with me. Happiness shared is happiness doubled. I am concentrating on plant stakes and yard art for NOST this spring and am grateful for my fellow glass guild member, Julie, for sharing her home studio with me for this tour.
